The
Youth Committee, formed in June of 2009, is being led by Dr. Lance Simkins in
conjunction with the Director of Youth and Family Programming.
The committee will meet on the fourth Monday of each month, at
7:30pm in the Youth Lounge! Below is a detailed description of the
“Mission” and “Vision” of this wonderful committee. If you are
interested in attending a meeting, joining the committee, or
volunteering at Youth Department programming, please contact the
Director of Youth and Family Programming.
Mission:
The mission of the Youth Committee of Congregation Kol Tikvah is to
serve as an evaluative, informative, and governing body to promote
the services offered by the Youth and Family Programming Department.
The Youth Committee will provide lines of communications to the
Board of Directors and the congregation. As a synagogue affiliated
with the Union of Reform Judaism (URJ), the Youth Committee is
comprised of lay people, frequently chartered in the synagogue’s
constitution and Board of Directors, tasked with overseeing the
complete operations of the Youth and Family Programming Department.
Vision:
The vision of the Youth Committee of Congregation Kol Tikvah is to
provide a welcoming environment that inspires Jewish youth to
participate and remain active in our synagogue family and the
greater Jewish community.
