Ritual
Committee
Responding to Rabbi Boxman's request, Kol Tikvah has reconvened a Ritual
Committee which will meet on the second Thursday of each month. Next
meeting February 9th, 7:00PM

News from the Ritual Committee...
Starting on February 18th (3rd Friday) Cantor Malcolm Arnold
will lead a traditional Friday night service in the Oneg room.
The early family service will still be held at 6:30
pm in the Sanctuary. This new service will give members of
the Congregation the option of attending either the early family
service or the new traditional Friday 7:30 pm service.

committee with be co-chaired by:
The
members of the committee are Rabbi Boxman, Cantor Arnold, Rich Beerman, Adrian Goldberg, Irene Martin, Claudia
Morrison, Lois Rubin, Jordan Schapiro,
Suzanne Schwartz, Katie Skopp, and Ken Sobel (secretary).
Rabbi
Boxman outlined the purpose of the committee as follows:
The Ritual Committee will work collaboratively in partnership
with the clergy to:

Review and evaluate worship experiences on a regular basis
-
Coordinate all aspects of High Holy Day worship experiences, i.e. Youth
Services, Tashlich, Honors and Aliyot, Torah and Haftarah readers, break
fast, etc.

Act
as a clearing house for new ideas and suggestions
-
To
educate the congregation through programs dealing with Siddur literacy,
synagogue etiquette, worship choreography, Shabbat observance, etc.

Advocate and promote increased synagogue attendance by finding ways to
draw people in i.e. Anniversary blessings, birthday blessings, new
member blessings.

Be
proactive in soliciting input from congregants by way of surveys and
small town "meetings"
The
committee will keep the congregation informed of all actions by publishing
its deliberations on the web site and we ask all members of the congregation
to provide your thoughts for ways to improve your worship experience.
