College Caravan
FSU ( Tallahassee) ~ UF (Gainesville) ~ UCF (Orlando)
Monday, November 1st - Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Dear College Caravan Participants and Parents,

I hope you are all excited to embark on this awesome trip super early on Monday morning!  Below are details of the trip and answers to some questions you might have.

When and where do we meet the bus?

We are meeting at 4:30a.m. on Monday morning in the Congregation Kol Tikvah parking lot.

What will the weather be like?

The weather in all three cities will be in the low 80s so dress appropriately.

What should we pack?

It will probably be very cold on the bus so please bring a sweatshirt.  I like to bring a blanket and pillow for the bus also since we will be spending a decent amount of time on the bus… your preference.  We will be doing a lot of walking throughout the trip.  Please wear shoes that you are comfortable walking in.  On Monday night, we will be going bowling at the UF Student Union so bring a pair of socks!  Other than that, just bring comfortable and appropriate clothing – jeans, t-shirts and sneakers are perfect J

Who will be staffing the trip?

There will be four staff (including me) joining the 21 teens on this trip.  Two are male and two are female.

What if we need to get in touch with you during the trip?

You can call me at any point on the trip on my cell phone at 954-263-7696.  Also, parents can check Facebook for picture updates throughout the trip.

Where are we going and what will be doing?

Attached is the most up to date detailed itinerary of the trip.  We will be starting out on Monday morning and heading directly to FSU in Tallahassee.  Monday afternoon we will make our way to Gainesville.  Tuesday morning, we will tour UF in Gainesville and then make our way to UCF in Orlando.  We should be leaving Orlando at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

Do I need to bring money?

Your registration fee covers all travel, hotel, tours and meals (except on Tuesday for dinner).  You might want to bring some extra cash if you want to purchase anything from the book stores.  Other than that, all you need is $10 for dinner on Tuesday.  Please do not bring a lot of extra cash.  Each teen is responsible for  his or her own belongings.

When will we be home and where do I get picked up?

It takes approximately 4 hours (including dinner) to get back to our In the CKT Parking lot. We should be back around 8:00pm.  I will have all of the participants call home when we are about an hour away to give a heads up on the exact pick-up time.

What if I have other questions that are not covered here?

Please do not hesitate to call me on my cell at (954) 263-7696 or e-mail me at meganu@koltikvah.net

I am looking forward to seeing all of your bright and early on Monday morning J
